Basic colorimetry laws

In past blogs we have talked a little about colorimetry how it can help us take advantage of our look, to always look radiant but above all that we use colors that flatter us and highlight our features.

The theoretical foundations of capillary colorimetry are diverse and numerous, here we leave you the main ones based on the laws of color.

First law of colorimetry

Cold colors always predominate over warm colors.

In this case the neutral color would be brown. Taking this law into account, if dyes are going to be combined with reflection.3 or .1, that is, ash and gold, the cold tone will always predominate, forming a reflection.13

Second law of colorimetry

Opposite colors neutralize each other.

That is, blue neutralizes very orange tones, just as yellow neutralizes the color violet and red neutralizes the color green.

This law is very important for the correct application of both shades and neutralizers and tone corrections.

Third law of colorimetry

A dye cannot be lightened with another dye.

This is very important that you do not forget it since sometimes we believe that we can change the tone without the need for discoloration or color cleaning and this leaves us with a bicolor tone that is growing and from the middle to the ends, it is not possible to lower the level of the color if the base tone is a dark cosmetic tone.

Fourth law of colorimetry

The last law tells us that it is not possible to apply a warm tone on a cold tone, but you can apply a cold tone on a warm one, and this is because cold tones neutralize warm tones.

We know that it is a super interesting topic so we will continue to break it down month by month in order to give you all the necessary tools to get what you are looking for.
